20 Years ‘Nevermind’

It is twenty years now since Nirvana‘s Nevermind, a never reached milestone was dropped on the market on 24th of September 1991 through David Geffen Records. It changed the opinion of almost everyone to the more extremely played direction of rock, better known as grunge. It was a huge step forward to make extreme genres socially acceptable. With more than 30 million sold copies it is one of the most successful rock-albums as well. It includes milestones such as Come As You Are, Lithium, Smells Like Teen Spirit and so on, heavily influenced by bands such as Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr. with whom they toured in ’91 or the Pixies. It crowded out Michael Jackson’s Dangerous from Billboard #1 in January 1992 and brought alternative rock to a large commercial audience.
